Are you "that boss?" You know the one with a nasty attitude and possible anger issues? No? Let me ask another way, do people avoid you when you walk in the office? Do they shut down when you walk in the room or get off the elevator when you get on? If so, you just might be "that boss."

As I weaved my way through the stressful situations the various interviewees were so kind to share with me I found that the vast majority of them; from the dance club owner to the sales manager at the car lot turned to one thing in a time of stress; their faith. I was shocked.

Hostile work environments hurt. It's a personal reality that I have unfortunately had to experience more than once, and I can say from that place of understanding that as much as it hurt me it hurts the organization more.
